Married to a narcissists/blamer

I never until now come to realise who I had married. I am now married for 25years with 3 beautiful children. Before marriage,he convinced me with his sad stories about how he was being ill-treated by his family and after we married he,together with his side of the family began abusing me physically and emotionally. He did not protect me from them but allowed them to continue. I cut ties with his side of the family and he blamed me for all that's happened. He wants me to mend things with them when they have told me to my face that they want nothing to do with me.

After 28yrs. of marriage, I cannot believe what I have just read. It makes me feel better about myself. You have defined my husband to a tee. I have already started just listening to all his bull, and just go about my business. It is hurtful but I guess I will survive. Thank you for your input. Very helpful.
